Clonfert Cathedral is located on the banks of the River Shannon, 9km from the town of Banagher in County Offaly.
It is of the tourist beaten track but well worth a visit.
Do allow yourself time, pack a picnic and dress for the Irish Weather.
Remember it is a place of worship and the graveyard although historic is still in use.
