McDonald's will reintroduce Quarter Pounders at affected locations after investigations determined beef patties were not the source of a recent E. coli outbreak. The outbreak affected at least 75 individuals across 13 states and resulted in one death and multiple hospitalizations. The Colorado Department of Agriculture confirmed beef patties were not linked to the outbreak, as E. coli tests returned negative. Taylor Farms has recalled yellow onions from the Colorado facility and is working with health officials on the investigation. Other fast-food chains have also taken precautionary measures related to onion supplies. Colorado has reported the highest number of illnesses linked to the outbreak, with many cases associated with travel. Symptoms of E. coli infection can be severe, particularly for vulnerable populations.
