She is a trailblazer who made history as the first woman of color elected to the West Hollywood City Council. She is also the first Iranian female Mayor in California and the world's first out LGBTQ Iranian Mayor. Committed to affordable housing, social justice, and small business revival, Mayor Shyne amplifies community voices and serves on various City Council subcommittees. With a background in law and extensive LGBTQ+ and civil rights advocacy, she has been instrumental in securing equal rights. She has led multiple organizations, prioritizing diversity and inclusion, and co-organizes a community group providing support during the pandemic.
