Description

This year has seen a ton of triple A releases that have dominated sales charts and come to define the year in gaming thus far. What has been missing, however, has been the top tier indie games that have been seen in years past. This year has, of course, HAD indie games with things like Trek To Yomi, Nobody Saves The World, and Weird West getting attention from press outlets and Nintendo having its indie showcase just over 2 weeks ago. However, just last year, by this point we had Cyber Shadow, Olija, Habroxia 2, Anodyne 2, Loop Hero, Mundaun, Before Your Eyes, and that’s just a few of the indie games to have come out. So with the relative lack of quality titles this year and a relatively nice lull in triple A releases coming right now, we thought it would be the best time to talk about some of our favorite indie games so that you, fine listener, can maybe try theme during the relative slow period of gaming this year. This is also our patron voted topic for the month of May. Every month our patrons decide what one of our topics for the month will be and we make that happen. If you’re interested in being a part of the show in that manner then go over to patreon.com/culturebop and consider patronage so that you too can be part of our show and community. So without further ado, let’s get into it.
