Something that has become increasingly frequent in the entire entertainment industry is remaking classics from the medium. Hollywood has been doing this for years and it has increasingly stepped into the gaming world. Recent games such as Resident Evil 2, Final Fantasy 7 Remake, and Demon’s Souls have been the figureheads in this trend and it doesn’t look to be going anywhere. And, of course, we all have a game in mind that we'd love to see return, but that begs the question... how? Does Metal Gear Solid deserve a Resident Evil 2 style from the ground-up remake or am I just wanting to play it with updated visuals? What really is the purpose of a remake and a remaster, and possibly, more importantly, what exactly do we want from the two?
