“We have to communicate better sa mga mahal natin sa buhay na nagtatrabaho abroad,” says Xyza Cruz Bacani, who joined her mother as a domestic helper in Hong Kong when she was 19. 

In the last eight years, Xyza has evolved from being a DH to a documentary photographer known around the world. In May 2022, she graduated from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts with a master’s degree in arts and politics.
