I worked for six years supporting Rach in two of Queensland’s women's correctional facilities, and it was one of the best things I have done. Giving women in need something positive to focus on and most importantly – the program gave them hope.
When talking to inmates, most of them had experienced child sexual abuse, domestic and family violence or some kind of addiction.
The saddest thing I saw was three generations of women, a grandma, mum and a daughter – in prison at the same time…
