Description

The incident involves the discovery of 68-year-old Monique Gilbertson's body in a freezer at her mobile home in a 55-plus mobile home park in the east Las Vegas Valley. Gilbertson had met Daniel Roush, 37, also known as Jazlynn Roush, at Home Depot and invited him to live with her. However, their living arrangement was short-lived due to Gilbertson's complaints about Roush's cleanliness and the presence of drug paraphernalia. She eventually kicked Roush out and changed the locks.

Despite being kicked out, Roush allegedly continued to have access to the home. According to police, Roush provided Gilbertson with fentanyl-laced drugs, which led to her overdose. Roush claimed he found Gilbertson dead and, not knowing what to do, stored her body in the freezer. He continued to live in the home for approximately two weeks with the body in the freezer.

Police were alerted to the situation after worrying signs such as Gilbertson’s car being parked unusually and her dogs barking loudly prompted a welfare check. Upon searching the residence on November 6, officers found Gilbertson’s body in the freezer. Roush and his wife, Gina Roush, were present at the home but initially did not answer the door.

Roush has been arrested and charged with second-degree murder. He has pleaded not guilty. Gina Roush admitted that her husband was a drug dealer and had sold drugs to Gilbertson, including the fentanyl-laced narcotics that led to her death[3][5][3].
