Isabella of Castile was not just one of the most influential women in history - she was one of the most influential people in history. She created modern Spain, and financed the expeditions of Christopher Columbus to South America. Thanks to Isabella, Spanish is one of the top 4 most widely spoken languages, and Roman Catholicism the most popular branch of Christianity.
