This week, Mark and Denis settle into their very blue new studio complete with TV3 morning-show energy and catch up on a surprisingly dramatic few days. Denis arrives with big news: after last week’s accident, Lisa finally got the X-ray… and came out wearing the full medical boot. Meanwhile, Mark reveals he once kept hospital crutches under his bed “for attention,” so the lads compare childhood injuries, cast envy and the strange Irish pride of hobbling around school.
They also get into:
- meeting listeners in the wild and the panic of having to explain “what the podcast is about”
- crumbs on the tube, public-transport etiquette and Mark’s mother’s extreme sentencing guidelines
- pacemakers: what they are, how they work and the wild fact that Mark has one (“a little tin of mints under the skin”)
- medical check-ups where the nurse can see exactly what your heart was doing at 12:30am
- Denis planning his first romantic trip to Ireland with her and discovering that Irish cottages are sometimes just… bungalows with a red door
- the Wild Atlantic Way’s Airbnb madness, €500 hotel rooms and Ballyvaughan “cottages”
- the Clare itinerary: the Burren, seaweed baths, Moher Pet Farm, proper stone cottages, Fanny O’Dee’s, and a safe public lunch with the parents
- dads who loudly say “Namaste,” mothers who rename people on purpose, and why introducing partners is a high-risk sport
Weekly queer comedy, Irish nostalgia and two very busy men pretending they’re famous because the studio looks nice.
