In the 13th century, a mysterious record was written in the confines of a Czech monastery. Legend says, the Codex Gigas was written in one single night, despite its extensive contents and impressive size, by one of the monks in order to avoid being bricked within the confines of the abbey. The sheer amount of information in the codex is impossible to have written down in one night, so a legend has arisen regarding the creation of the tome.
