Sometimes, dear Rebels, it pays to go straight to the source. Which is exactly why I was fortunate to speak to Steven. "The Awakening of Lilith" is a dark film, visually and emotionally, and I (and you) got to hear his explanation for the tone and mood of the movies, and from what roots they grew from. It has a sort of dream-like quality to it, getting interrupted by bursts of reality. (Wow, I'm sounding like a real film critic here, huh? No? Well, I gave it a shot...) As of this writing, you can only catch it at festivals (which we discuss in the interview), but when it comes out to streaming or wherever you might see it, why not take a dark journey?
