In the fourth episode of British Murders Season 4, I tell the story of Stuart Hulse and Shirley Brown.
In June 1996, Hulse attended a "sordid sex party" with ten other individuals.
At the party, Hulse watched an extreme pornographic video and became frustrated when he was left on his own after everyone else coupled up and disappeared to different bedrooms.
Hulse took a taxi home, snuck into Shirley Brown's house and sexually assaulted her. He was re-enacting the acts portrayed in the video.
He then strangled Shirley to death with her tights and went home.
He was handed a life sentence in January 1998 and told in 2008 that he must serve a minimum of 17 years behind bars before being eligible for parole.
