Dan and Ozzie Silna owned the ABA's Spirits of St. Louis in the 1970's. The merger with the NBA ended the Spirits but lead to the most unique sports transaction arguably in history.Dan is taking part in organizing the Columbia Law Schools Panel Discussion "Lessons From the Munich Olympics." Forty-four years ago, in the early hours of September 5, members of the Black September Palestine Liberation group invaded Munichs Olympic Village and brutally murdered eleven Israeli hostages. This single vicious act of terror changed the world: If enmity cannot be put aside for the Olympic Games, then nowhere is safe. Bob Costas will headline Lessons from Munich, as part of the Gerrard Berman Day School Torch Talk series. Costas will moderate a panel of experts who will discuss the tragedy at the 1972 Summer Olympic Games in Munich, Germany.
