In Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside, women were disappearing: mothers, daughters, many of them Indigenous, many struggling, many dismissed. For years, families begged for answers while whispers spread through the streets that someone was hunting society’s most vulnerable.

On a pig farm in Port Coquitlam, Robert William Pickton was doing exactly that. This is the story of one of Canada’s most prolific serial killers and the devastating systemic failures that allowed a farm to become a graveyard.
