During recording, news broke linking Xabi Alonso with the Gladbach vacancy (24:23), which they discuss before chatting about the rest of the Bundesliga (30:51), including Robert Lewandowski closing in on Gerd Müller’s record of 40 goals in a single league season, Hertha picking up a hugely important win over Leverkusen, who themselves are in a tricky run of form. Sergiño Dest got two for Barça in their 6-1 win at Real Sociedad (41:43), whereas Atleti scraped through against Alavés to maintain its lead at the top of La Liga. In France, PSG went top (50:08) and in Italy, Juventus were upset by an old goalscorer (53:26).
