The Houston Astros are reportedly making a strong push for free agent starting pitcher Ranger Suarez, with Mark Feinsand stating they are one of the top contenders alongside the Chicago Cubs and Baltimore Orioles. Suarez had an impressive 2025 season, finishing with a 12-8 record, 3.20 ERA, and 1.22 WHIP, while demonstrating excellent control with 151 strikeouts and 38 walks. Hes also been exceptional in the postseason, making 11 appearances with a 4-1 record and 1.48 ERA. Feinsand believes Suarez is unlikely to return to Philadelphia due to their top pitching prospect and prioritizing re-signing Schwarber and Realmuto.
