Douglas Ure, a seasoned leader from Marsh McLennan, is set to become the new chief executive of Business West, the South West chamber of commerce, in January. Ure, who has led teams and forged strategic partnerships in both the private and public sectors, will work closely with outgoing managing director Phil Smith to ensure a smooth transition. Smith, who has led Business West for over three decades, views the change as an opportunity to focus on long-term prosperity for businesses and the wider community. Ures appointment follows the recent addition of three new non-executive directors to Business Wests board.
