The CNO Financial Indianapolis Monumental Marathon, now in its eighteenth year, is set to host its largest event yet, with a record-breaking number of runners from all fifty states and twenty-two countries. The full marathon, for the first time, is the most popular race, with local runner Ben Beeks, who collapsed due to Guillain-Barré Syndrome sixteen years ago, taking on his first full marathon as part of a personal challenge. The event, starting with opening ceremonies at seven thirty AM, will see seventeen thousand five hundred runners, with road closures in effect from Friday evening.
