Carla Eckels, a broadcasting veteran, celebrates her remarkable career at KMUW, where shes been an award-winning announcer, news producer, and Director of Organizational Culture since 1996. She hosts the popular R&B and gospel show, Soulsations, and contributes a monthly segment, In the Mix, to The Range. Before KMUW, Carla hosted NPR’s Morning Edition and co-hosted a nationally syndicated gospel radio show. Her dedication earned her numerous accolades, including the Elliott School of Communication Honors and Kansas Association of Broadcasters awards. She was inducted into The Kansas African American Museums Trailblazers Hall of Fame in 2020.
