Sam Mahoney, a wheelchair user, defied the odds and earned his pilots license with Able Flights help. This non-profit empowers people with disabilities to fly, providing training for sport pilot licenses. Sams journey was made possible by a specially modified Sky Arrow, originally loaned by the Ricci Family Foundation. Recently, Able Flight moved to Southern Illinois University, acquiring new planes and allowing Sam to purchase the Sky Arrow. The Ricci Family Foundation is donating the sale proceeds and a matching gift back to Able Flight, which has helped over 100 pilots with disabilities since its inception.
