Description

Ohio Governor Mike DeWine has signed a new bill, the Escaped Convict Alert Program (ECAP), into law. This program aims to notify the public when a convicted felon escapes custody, similar to an AMBER Alert. The bill, introduced by Representative Bill Roemer, was prompted by investigative reports highlighting gaps in public notification. ECAP will go into effect on March 2nd, providing timely information to keep communities safer.
