Description

RealPage, a software company providing rent-pricing recommendations to landlords, has agreed to a settlement with federal prosecutors to end alleged illegal algorithmic collusion. The deal, which still needs approval, prohibits RealPage from using real-time data for price recommendations, instead requiring at least one-year-old non-public data. This change aims to increase competition in local housing markets and prevent secret algorithms from dictating rents.
