30-year-old Thomas Manson, from Crediton in Devon, was sentenced to over four years in prison for raping a teenage girl in May 2022. The victim, who was 19 at the time, reported the assault, leading to Mansons conviction. The crime had a profound impact on the victim, causing her A-level grades to drop and making it difficult for her to form new relationships. She is undergoing weekly therapy to cope with the psychological damage. Detective Sergeant Kate Hughes of Operation Bluestone commended the victims courage and emphasized that the sentence sends a clear message to victims and perpetrators.
