Description

Chatham County Commissioner Pat Farrell is advocating for a resolution to the ongoing dispute with Chatham Area Transit (CAT). He has requested a discussion item on Fridays commission agenda to reverse the countys decision to end its agreement with CAT, fill three open seats on the CAT board, and drop all lawsuits against the transit agency. This move comes after Chairman Ellis letter in November stating the county would end its transportation services agreement with CAT next year. The dispute has been ongoing for over six months due to changes to CATs board structure by the Georgia General Assembly. The county has not yet appointed its three new members to the CAT board.
