Description

It's the finale of Season Two and the Wyrdo's are fitting in all the wyrd news, strange stories, and other bits they couldn't squeeze into the main episodes!

The Wyrdo's launch into a deep dive on Ghostwatch (1992). We discuss how this unsettling BBC programme, inspired by the Enfield Poltergeist, masterfully used trusted presenters like Michael Parkinson and Craig Charles to blur the lines between reality and fiction. We explore the tragic real-world aftermath, the 30,000 complaints (including Michael Parkinson's own mother!), and the show's undeniable influence on the found-footage genre, right up to the critically acclaimed film Host. Craig also shares his efforts to track down Stephen Volk's elusive sequel short story, "31/10".

For the Wyrd news segment, Andy introduces a headline from the Daily Star: the bizarre theory, allegedly formulated by Google’s own AI, that Keir Starmer is a 'synth construct alien' sent to Earth to ensure Galactic Law. This leads to a related story from The Guardian's science section, pondering if intelligent life has simply got bored of trying to contact our planet.

Finally, Andy offers a quick-fire Wyrd item about a mother dressing her child as Ed Gein for a school bash, before the episode wraps up with a ghostly final piece of evidence: eerie Ring doorbell footage that, in our opinion, definitely proves the existence of ghosts.

Thank you very much for tuning in as always, Wyrdo's!
