Red Dress Alert: A New Initiative for Missing Indigenous Women - A new alert system, similar to an Amber Alert, is set to launch next summer. The Red Dress Alert, culturally appropriate and Indigenous-led, will notify the public when an Indigenous woman, girl, or two-spirit person goes missing. The system will include a 24/7 call center, public alerts through cell phones and media, and could potentially be implemented nationally.
