TRON: ARES
Tron: Ares (2025), directed by Joachim Rønning, is the third film in the Tron franchise, following Tron (1982) and Tron: Legacy (2010). The story follows Ares, a powerful artificial intelligence brought from the digital Grid into the real world, igniting a high-stakes conflict between tech empires over a “permanence code” that could stabilize digital life in reality.
Jared Leto stars as Ares alongside Greta Lee as ENCOM CEO Eve Kim, Evan Peters as rival tech head Julian Dillinger, Jodie Turner-Smith, Hasan Minhaj, Arturo Castro, Cameron Monaghan, Sarah Desjardins, Gillian Anderson, and Jeff Bridges reprising his role as Kevin Flynn. The screenplay is by Jesse Wigutow from a story by David DiGilio and original Tron creator Steven Lisberger, with cinematography by Jeff Cronenweth, editing by Tyler Nelson, and a score by Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross of Nine Inch Nails.
