Last week 9 men from Ireland including twin brothers from Dundalk set off from San Sebastáin De La Gomera Canarias Spain to take on the world's toughest rowing endurance race all to raise money for two worthy charities the RNLI and the Laura Lynn foundation. The Talisker Whiskey Atlantic Challenge is a premium event in ocean rowing that typically takes 35-40 days for the top rowers to complete, covering more than 3000 miles, requiring them to row for 12 hours a day, they face exposure to the elements, dehydration, seasickness, drastic weather conditions, inability to consume enough calories.
