In this week's episode, we put our improv skills to the test with one of Brisbane’s best improv superstars, Rosa Sottile! As Co-Founder of Big Fork Theatre, Rosa and her team recognise the importance of improv in our Brisbane community, ensuring the theatre sport is accessible to every single art lover out there! Putting the community first, Big Fork aims to teach, entertain and bring joy to the local arts scene and we unpack how you can improve your acting skills in this art form!
Scene 19 unravels the wild world of improvisation and Rosa’s journey within it. She explains how Big Fork Theatre was formed, the basics of improvisation and how classes are run. Rosa encourages everyone to have a go at improv because no one is ‘boring’ and every single human who walks through Big Fork doors has a story to tell. However, running constant classes comes with its own challenges. Big Fork Theatre doesn’t currently have a home to call their own and Rosa chats about the company’s aim to create a theatre space that is wholly disabled accessible. With the help of a community fundraiser, the company hopes to raise $10,000 to put towards creating a hub for improv theatre. And if that weren't enough, Rosa shows us why she's best in the improv game... putting Brooke and Chelsea on the spot with an improv session of their own!
