Description

Something's Coming to Brisbane, and it's a musical you don't want to miss. This week we chat Sophie Salvesani about her starring role in 'West Side Story'. Equal parts talented performer and talented teacher, Sophie gives us an insight to her world of juggling commitments and devoting yourself to the things you love.

Scene 26 unravels Sophie's theatrical history - from starting out with paying flute, performing with Ipswich Musical Theatre and continuing on to star in one of the most well-loved roles, Maria. Amongst the madness of theatre, Sophie is also a registered primary school teacher, having completed her bachelor's degree straight out of high school. Our Play Haus podcast host Brooke connects with Sophie over the struggles and joys that come with teacher life, and Sophie gives thespians and teachers alike some sage advice. Scene 26 teaches us that we don't have to only have one love or one career. Sophie's journey is a testament to the importance of identifying what's important to you and going to get it.
