Description

A special guest talks to Bernie about the very ancient “Epic of Gilgamesh” in part 1 of this multi-part series. In this episode you’ll meet Gilgamesh the ancient king of Uruk, Sam the Scribe, and two guys named Enkidu. One is a Wildman made from spit and clay and one is our new Fan of History contributor Enkidu Barkarmo. But you’ll have to listen to find out which is which!

The standard Akkadian Epic of Gilgamesh was composed by a scribe named Sîn-lēqi-unninni, probably during the Middle Babylonian Period ( c. 1600 – c. 1155 BC), based on much older source material.
