Description

Welcome to another episode of Movies That Make Us! This week, we are without Vale, but Tracy and Jake welcome Craig and Alan from Matinee Heroes, as we look at a classic sports film from 1976- The Bad News Bears.

In this episode we talk about this movie that would never get made like this today, why movies like The Bad News Bears and Rocky that were made in the 70s were so different from what we see today- namely, the good guys didn't win- what does it mean to have a moral victory? And we discuss how this film is a template for so many kids sports movies that came after. And Craig comes up with a new college major, hitting university campuses across the country soon- Cinema Archaeology.

What do you think of The Bad News Bears? Do you have a suggestion for an upcoming episode? Did Tracy say something you disagreed with? You can send all of that feedback to podcast@moviesthatmakeus.com
