This week I’m joined by This Fan Girl founder Amy Drucquer. And occasionally her coffee machine.
Amy charts her journey from childhood match days with her dad and the sense of belonging that came with those, to the wilderness years of early adulthood when football stadiums no longer felt like home.
Knowing this wasn’t a feeling unique to her and with a creative itch to scratch, Amy began an ambitious photographic project across the country to re-address media representation of female fans.
Along the way she not only reclaimed her place in the game but, through This Fan Girl, forged a community for women in search of one in the process.
But it doesn’t end there and we’ve got Leicester City winning the Premier League to thank.
