Photographer Jeremie Roturier explains how it was never his goal to become one but how, driven by a passion to share the game as he sees it, he found himself working with hometown club FC Annecy, collaborating with the French Football Federation, and feeling the intensity of Marseille’s Velodrome during a Coupe de France shock.
Believing there’s more to the bright lights of elite-level football, Jeremie documents the realness and rawness of the game’s lower reaches and long-forgotten pitches, and uses his creativity as a vehicle to create connection, extending beyond football to the unexpected medium of a running club!
All whilst a hint of nostalgia in his DNA has resulted in his son carrying the name of a French footballing legend.
Enjoy!
