To learn about the innovation in MedTech industry, Cédric travelled to Bern and conducted a must-see interview with Carlos Ciller, CEO & co-founder of RetinAI. In this episode, we are discovering how AI can be applied to healthcare and what are the current trends in ophthalmology.
Carlos Ciller is a PhD holder in Machine Learning & Medical Imaging in Ophthalmology. He studied at EPFL in Lausanne and also spent a year at Imperial College in London. As he explains, he was always looking for a way to put technology and innovation at the service of humanity. Eventually, he gathered an exceptional team to work on improving the eye health care service and started his own company, RetinAI.
The team behind RetinAI is developing a solution for an early detection of vision issues and their aim is to help patients by preventing sight loss. As Ciller explains, they want to cut down the current waiting time for diagnosis of eye diseases and to be able to deliver medical diagnosis within a day. They apply AI to simplify the complex task of healthcare professionals during the medical examination process. Watch the video to find out how!
