Listen

Description

This 5 Minute Friday didn't make it out on Friday due to issues with my internet, but in being flexible in my approach I sent this out on Sunday. But if you're listening down the road a bit, you wouldn't have even noticed the hiccup.

This episode is about the Law of Requisite Variety which says in a given system, the component, person, species with the greatest flexibility to adapt and respond will prevail. Essentially generating more options in life. If the only tool you have is a hammer, then pretty much treat everything as if it's a nail.

In relationships, achieving goals, behavior, and life at large the more options you can generate in your approach towards the fulfilment of your intention, the higher the likelihood of success.

If you're a coach, the more tools and flexibility you have in meeting your client in their model of the world, the greater the likelihood of arriving at a satisfactory and successful relationship. The flexible coach with never encounter a resistant client.

So if you're experiencing frustration in dealing with others, people in general resist your ideas, your spouse or significant other is resisting to your point of view the problem isn't them, it's you. This is a call to add more tools to your communication toolbox.
