The banking sector is huge. In this episode we cover what it’s like working in commercial banking, for renewable and sustainable businesses. Sam’s job is customer facing, which is just one part of his job he loves.
We learn that you don’t just have to study a STEM degree to get onto a grad scheme too, which is very reassuring.
There are so many arms of banking - private, risk, investment, retail etc. And it’s really interesting hearing Sam’s opinion on how they differ, but also learning how many different positions there are within each one, from human resources to lawyers.
Sam gives us some great tips if you’re considering getting into this industry, from reaching out to associates on LinkedIn and keeping up with trends etc. It’s just a brilliant overview of banking in general.
