Description

In this episode we talk to newly qualified doctor, Dr Kate McMurrugh.

Things we cover:

·     The process to becoming a doctor

·     Making hard decisions when you’re 14-18 years

·     Best application tips for Uni

·     Other healthcare jobs within the NHS, if becoming a doctor isn’t possible (some you may have not even heard of!)

If you’re currently at school and considering studying medicine at Uni, PLEASE listen to this episode. You will not regret it.

The process to becoming a doctor is a long one! Tough, but very rewarding. We talk to Kate about making this decision at 14/15 years old and what helped her make that decision. A clue – work experience really helps!

From there we discuss Uni application tips, what it’s like at Uni as a med student, and what the next few years as a junior doctor holds, progression etc.

Going the extra mile, Kate describes other positions within a typical healthcare team, nurses, midwives, physiotherapists, and new emerging positions like a physicians associate (defo check that out).

Enjoy!
