We know what you're thinking: "Why on earth would you wait until 8th grade to give your kids a cell phone?!" Believe us, we get it. If we didn't know better, we'd probably be judging us too. But here's the thing: parenthood is hard enough without worrying about the dangers of the world wide web. We're trying to raise independent, responsible humans who make wise decisions, and even if we don't make it all the way to 8th grade, we'll try our best to teach them all they need to know to stay safe on the web. Until then, for the safety of our children, we leave them phonelessly in the dark. Ha, ha! Keep up the good work, fellow parents.
Full disclosure here: we're not experts, just two moms trying to raise boys in a world that seems to be in a hurry for them to grow up! We know every parent makes the best decisions for their child and family and we fully support your parenting. But this is what we've chosen for our family because it simply feels right in the present.
