A recent analysis by LendingTree found that single women who live by themselves are more likely to own a home than single men in 48 of 50 states. The analysis has generated quite the buzz, being written about in both the Washington Post and Forbes. It may be a surprising statistic considering the financial hurdles women have historically faced. For example, women earn 83 cents for every dollar a man makes.
