Description

Cooper, a Las Vegas local gay man, drag show dj, fiance to a drag queen, and longtime friend of DWonno's catches up about the local LGBTQ+ Bar Scene. Guided by an article called "The Legacy of the LGBTQ Nightlife" by Nikki Barbi of the UCI School of Humanities which provides highlights on the book by Luca Hilderbrand called "The Bars are Ours". This is a 2-part episode that spends the first part discussing how gay bars are much like a home to many LGBTQ+ persons, provide a safe space, house drag shows, and what their personal experience is. DWonno and Cooper not only reminisce about their past but also discuss the culture of drag in the community and how Queens are often underpaid, undervalued, and why they sometimes provide tired performances.
