Kevin Jones has spent more than 35 years working in the fields of social services, mental health, and education philosophy, with particular emphasis on working with youth and their families. He has honed his practice through direct care and as an administrator in residential treatment programs, group homes, mental health organizations, and alternative schools.
Kevin earned a Master of Science in Restorative Practices from the IIRP Graduate School in 2017, which he considers the culmination of a seven-year explicit learning journey in restorative practices. He will graduate in December 2022 with his masters in Educational Leadership- Diversity and Equity from U of I. He has been a restorative practices instructor since 2016 and worked across the country as well as in the Central Illinois region. As a retired administrator, Kevin continues to work with Central Illinois regional school districts to support restorative leadership team development. Kevin has also worked with the National Center for Urban Education at Illinois State University, a program that supports communal equity and promotes educational success.
Kevin has been professionally trained in a number of behavior management strategies, including Therapeutic Crisis Intervention, Nonviolent Crisis Intervention and Trust-Based Relational Intervention. He serves on the boards of Not in Our Town and Project OZ
