In the past, he has been an EF Hutton and Bear Stearns representative with 12 years in the Commodity business when he decided to switch from a 'greed' industry to a 'giving' industry in insurance by helping people with risk.
In a lot of ways it (commodity trading) is opposite of insurance because insurance is the paying of a small premium to offset the risk of the larger loss and in commodity trading, it's putting up money to assume risk so your're looking at profiting from it. And insurance really is not for profit, it's just bringing you back to whole.
His industry can be seasonal. The new year usually brings people in to reevaluate their insurance coverages. Tom believes in educating his clients via an annual review. He believes in being in person for his clients as a fellow neighbor of East Cobb. He uses some print advertising and finds referrals to be very rewarding.
He is a member of Marietta Harley Owner's Group (Hellbender Harley Dealership) 'to ride and have fun' but also to give back to the community. His staff participates in East Cobb Business Association and keeps visible in the community.
They may even be East Cobb's Oldest Allstate agency and are proud of their "premier service designation". They received Agency of the year in 2009 and 2010.
