Are you looking for a 2015 healthcare preview? That’s a significant topic in Episode 12 of Healthcareonomics. If physicians and health insurance companies subscribed to the concepts of affordability, customer service and consumer choice, then 2015 will be an incredible year in healthcare. For sure, those three traits are what one finds at The Colleyville Medical Clinic.

For example, I have a “15 minutes or it’s free” policy meaning that if a patient waits longer than 15 minutes for a scheduled appointment, then their office visit charge is waived. This is what was said on the recent show on this topic…

“…the bottom line is that if I don't see you within fifteen minutes, if I'm not at your side within fifteen minutes, then the visit's on me. I comp the ninety-nine dollar visit charge. To me, that's just a level of respect that I have for my patients. Usually, when patients come in, depending on what their problem is, I usually sit down with them for at least fifteen minutes and sometimes thirty minutes, sometimes an hour.”

That’s the way healthcare should be, but it’s not. There’s plenty more on the topic of what’s in-store for healthcare this year in this episode. Also, in this episode of Healthcareonomics, we discuss managed care and capitation. With Obamacare, more people have health insurance, but what does that really mean? Who are the winners and losers of there being more people with health insurance? Why don’t we have affordable healthcare in present day?
