In this episode, Dr. D and Dr. Pepper talk about why insurance leads to bad service in the PT space. They discuss how insurance doesn’t cover the treatments you need to reach your full potential as an athlete, how it leads to less time with your therapist, hidden insurance fees and more.
Tune in to find out why cash based physical therapy is the way to go if you want to improve as an athlete.

You need more than what insurance typically covers you to get what you need as an athlete. For example, training to be able to run is one thing but being able to be back on the court and being able to perform without fear of re-injury.
PT Insurance is getting worse every year. It is dropping 10% this coming year.
Run of the mill PT clinics prioritize more sessions rather than more quality care. One session packed with quality time with your therapist is more valuable than getting three sessions a week with barely any quality time.
Turn around times in cash-based clinics are much quicker than in run of the mill clinics.
If something doesn’t feel right, question your healthcare provider.
