A fellow Betazoid, Tam Elbrun (good name, Great Bird!), who is also mentally unstable, comes onboard to help save a sentient star ship from being space-fried in a supernova. Hold on to your writer’s room because this dude has a history a mile long! Did you know he was part of a failed first contact mission in which a bunch of Starfleet people done died? Did you know that a couple of those diers were friends of Commander Riker? And, did you also know that Elbrun’s empathery is so much stronger than Deana Troi’s that he can’t help but hear all the voices in his head coming from the Enterprise crew? He can’t get that kid Harry and his compulsion to carve dolphins out of his mind, and hey, did you know Worf has a young ward living in his cabin – a Jeremy Aster – What the fuck? Elbrun can only find peace when peering into the mind of his new bestie Data! Hold on, I thought you said this was a Deana Troi episode!
