This is a great question that we first heard from Guy Raz (How I Built This book). Once we did, the light bulb went on!!
Scary is subjective. It's stepping into the unknown. Feeling butterflies when you push the 'publish' button. Starting a business.
Dangerous is objectively, well....dangerous. It's a decision that can cause harm that can't be undone.
Many times we feel like something is dangerous, when it's really just scary.
If we start our own business and it doesn't work out, will it ruin our life? Probably not.
This thought was liberating when starting PelvicSanity. If it didn't work out, I'd just go back and find another job working for someone else. I'd literally be in the same place I began. Starting PelvicSanity was scary, but it wasn't dangerous.
What was dangerous? Being in the same job I didn't love 10 years later. It was putting a strain on my relationships and my love of our profession. STAYING PUT was the danger, but it wasn't scary.
So what's scaring you? That scared feeling is usually the tickle that tells you it's something worth doing.
