So what holds us back from feeling more grateful than we do? Cognitive Bias!
You know how excited we get in talking about cognitive bias. These are unconscious and often hardwired mental habits.
Two that prevent us from more happiness? The Negativity Bias and the Frequency Illusion.
The Negativity Bias means we focus more on negative events than positive.
And the Frequency Illusion means we see more of the things we focus on.
Together? We bias towards paying more attention and noticing more negative in our life than we should. It's what makes gratitude a difficult practice to maintain. And we have a few tips and tricks for overcoming it!
