In this episode, Pastor Jeff begins by asking, “If telescopes and microscopes are inadequate tools for observing God, how then do we know Him?” We know Him because He has revealed Himself to us. When God reveals to us truth that we would not otherwise know it is called “revelation”. Jeff and Jen explore the topic of the revelation of Scripture. The revelation given in Scripture tells humanity everything that it needs to know about God and His plan. This is the first episode in the Holy Scriptures series, which also includes inspiriation, inerrancy, infallibility, illumination, and sufficiency.
Topics We Discussed in this Episode
● [1:55] God supernaturally reveals Himself to us through the written word.
● [6:20] Revelation is God to us, through His Word. Inspiration is from the authors of the Bible to paper. Illumination is moving from paper to heart.
● [8:50] God used at least eight different forms of communication.
● [12:53] Everything we need to know is written from Genesis to Revelation.
● [15:10] The real power of theology is not only in knowing it, but applying it. Increase your intake of God’s revealed written Word to us – the Bible. It’s through His Word that we know and understand who God is, who we are, and His purpose and plan for our lives.
